Cescco2 Laboratory Update Expanding the Horizons of scCO2 Technology

Exciting times at the Cescco2 laboratory!

Our supercritical CO₂ (Scco₂)–based extruder is almost ready — marking a key milestone in our research on how Scco₂ technology can enhance polymer melt processing, reduce viscosity, and enable cleaner, circular recycling pathways.

The possibilities are expanding rapidly — especially in the field of PVC recycling, where Scco₂ can help remove legacy additives, lower processing temperatures, and significantly improve material quality.

This project is proudly supported by our partners: Shin-Etsu Europe, Prysmian Group, the Municipality of Emmen, the University of Groningen, JTF Subsidies, ASQA, the Province of Groningen, SNN, and the European Union.

Together, we are building the foundation for a sustainable and scalable plastics processing future. The first test runs will begin soon — exciting times ahead!
